How Often Should You Clean Your Carpet (in Colorado)?

How Often Should You Have Your Northern Colorado Carpets Cleaned?

We recommend that your carpets are professionally cleaned by one of our qualified carpet cleaning technicians every 12-18 months. Carpets should be cleaned on a regular basis and before they become heavily soiled. Allowing soil to build up will significantly reduce the life of a carpet.

Vacuuming is simply not enough, all carpets should be deep cleaned at least every twelve months. This can double the life expectancy of your carpet.

A thorough deep cleaning will not only rejuvenate the look of your carpet, leaving it smelling fresh and clean, it can also reduce wear to the pile and thereby extends its life. Your carpet can hide as much as 1lb (0.5kg) of dirt per sq.yd (1 sq.m).

The damaging effects of dirt

Carpet are damaged more so by what you cannot see rather than what you can. Vacuuming alone only clears the top layer of dirt and grime away. The deep down grit and dirt wear away any stain-resistance and cuts at carpet fibers when they are walked on or in those areas of high use, particularly where children play. High-traffic paths in your home, as you are probably aware, will flatten and mat over time because of this fibre abrasion. If not taken care of, this can eventually lead to fibre loss. Having your carpet professionally cleaned can prolong the life of your carpet.

Regular cleaning for your home and for your health

For most carpets, the best cleaning comes from hot water extraction. It is the method recommended by most major carpet manufacturers and used by professional carpet cleaning services like HomePro. Continued, regular deep-cleaning not only removes allergens, dirt, and grime but can add years of life to your carpet by removing the abrasive grit that harms carpet fibers. General household vacuum cleaners DO NOT clean as deep as professional carpet cleaners can, even household carpet cleaners won’t clean as deep as we can. We use our own truck mounted carpet cleaning system as well as our own water supply to provide the deepest clean for your carpets.

A message regarding COVID19 from HomePro

We have been monitoring the Coronavirus carefully, and prior to the increase in cases, we began taking precautions, such as the use of 70% alcohol-based hand sanitizer, limiting physical contact (ie handshaking), sterilizing vehicles, etc. We take our role in the community seriously and try to make every effort to ensure our clients are taken care of but also that our technicians are safe as we enter our clients’ homes and businesses.

It is imperative that we begin to implement additional precautions for the safety of our community, staff and clients:

1.) If you are sick or have been exposed to the Coronavirus, please cancel your appointment by calling us at (970) 528-5339.

2.) Please avoid physical contact with our technicians during the time of the appointment. We will greet you with a warm smile, but not a handshake at this time.

3.) Please wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds prior to our arrival for our scheduled appointment. With your permission, our technician will wash their hands as well. Please instruct them to do so, otherwise they will use the company-provided Clorox hand sanitizer. We have always utilized booties when in clients’ homes, but at this time all our technicians wear clean gloves as an additional precaution.

4.) Each technician has been equipped with Clorox hand sanitizer (over 70% alcohol) as well as Clorox wipes in an effort to minimize risk. Masks can be utilized upon request, however the CDC does not recommend masks for healthy individuals. Masks are only recommended for those that are sick.

5.) If a technician is sick, they will be asked to stay home and get well; therefore, we ask for your patience and understanding in case an appointment must be rescheduled.

6.) All HomePro technicians are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

We thank you in advance for your patience during this most challenging and unprecedented time.
